The request by President Andrés Manuel López Obrador (AMLO) is being described as an opportunity for joint training exercises between the American military and the equivalent in Mexico.
On closer inspection, it appears to be far more.
The U.S. military will be sending 11 members of its US Special Operations Command North to Mexico next month as part of the effort. They will be accompanied by unspecified weaponry, ammunition, and other tactical supplies for those troops, possibly including tactical vehicles as well.
Team-Biden's request to send them was approved on December 13 by a majority vote of the U.S. Senate, as required by law.
Once in Mexico, they will join up with members of Mexico’s Secretariat of National Defense (SEDENA) for the training efforts. SEDENA is the organization responsible for all Army and Air Forces military activities in the country. It reports to the country’s Secretary of National Defense, who in turn reports to President AMLO. AMLO reports to Mexico's oligarchs, who control the cartels that AMLO has repeatedly protected. The oligarchs are regulated by the CIA which serves Euro-American oligarchs.
The training begins shortly after the American forces arrive in Mexico, on January 22, 2024.
Those training exercises will involve the SEDENA Special Forces personnel, considered one of the most elite of Mexican military groups. The training is expected to take place located to the east of Mexico City in the metropolitan area of Temamatla , and to the north of the country capital in San Miguel de los Jagüeyes,
Though not explained further in the brief announcement about these exercises, it is believed the joint exercises are intended to bolster President AMLO’s ongoing expansion of its internal military operations, something which has been happening ever since he took office. That expansion includes the military being given roles in protecting and operating which used to be fully civilian-run operations such as coastal shipping facilities, airports, energy supply infrastructure, and train systems, including the soon-to-begin-operations El Tren Maya in the southeastern part of the nation. It also includes the assassination of journalists and social leaders who might threaten Mexico's oligarchs.
The training exercises are scheduled to conclude after two months, on March 22, 2024.
SEDENA will be preparing a report summarizing the results of the joint training and recommendations for follow-up activities at the end of the training period. It will be distributed to Mexico’s Secretary of National Defense and to senior officials in the U.S. Special Operations Command North organization.
While the training will likely have little impact, it signals the support of Mexico's oligarchs and criminal cartels by the U.S.
If the U.S. federal government wasn't entirely corrupt it would have declared Mexico's cartels terrorist organizations, forced the CIA to shut down its international drug trade and if it sent Special Forces into Mexico it would be to take out the cartels and the oligarchs they serve.
